PB & Celery Made Simple

This is a treat I remember having at home growing up. I remember bringing Peanut Butter on Celery to school to share with my class and having it as a snack when I got home. I also remember watching my mom using a knife to put all the peanut butter in the center and how much time it took. A couple weeks ago I was struck with some inspiration on how to put this yummy snack together in about 1/3 of the time!

As you can see from the picture above I had already made about half of the plate in the traditional way, using a knife to slather the peanut butter in the center of the celery. I thought that maybe as an adult I could do it with less mess….but if any of you have cooked, crafted, or painted with me you know that a mess just pretty much is part of the package. I also thought it would go a lot faster, ummmm no. Usually I just dip celery in the peanut butter jar if I want this snack, or if I’m feeling germ-aphobic I’ll put some PB in a bowl and then I’ll dip. Since I was making it for a family get together I was slaving away trying to put peanut butter on every slice of celery.

Then I realized I could easily squeeze the peanut butter in the center of the celery like I would if I were icing a cake. It’s that simple! It takes no time at all if you do it that way.

I just used a plastic sandwich bag, put some peanut butter in it and cut the corner off. I easily squeezed the peanut butter out onto the celery. Talk about a time and mess saver! Then you can just squeeze the left over peanut butter back into the jar and throw away the bag. Talk about making life a little more simple.

So there is my wonderful time saving tip for you! I figure you don’t need me to write out a full recipe, right? I mean you get the idea from looking at the pictures I hope. You can always write me a note if you need any more details!
